Holiday Music - That Makes Us Smile

Barb and Vicky's favorite holiday pop-music.

Vicky: Hey Barb!

Barb: This morning I found the holiday music station on cable… Yay!

Vicky: Without Thanksgiving in Australia, the holiday season begins December 1st. But that didn’t stop me. We listened to Christmas music on Spotify during our own tiny, not very traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Which helped, but without cranberry sauce in a proper can - it’s just not the season.

Barb: What are some of your favorites?

Vicky: I am so picky. Not only do I have favorite songs, I have favorite versions. Mostly from childhood - but I also love new versions that reinterpret songs.

Barb: I don’t call that picky. I’m the same way. I say I’m a “purist.”

Vicky: Just another thing we have in common...Love it.

Barb: There are so many great songs to choose from. Just look at this list… It even starts with my childhood memories… Burl Ives and Gene Autry’s versions of Rudolph!

Vicky: What a range! Perry Como, Prince, Burl Ives, Herb Alpert. Not many lists with such varied genres. I admire all the artists brave enough to create new Christmas songs, it must be hard to break through all the classics stuck in our childhood memories.
